In the pharmaceutical and speciality chemical industries, many processes involve sensitive, highly pure or toxic media. These often have to be stored/transported under the most extreme conditions. At the same time, lidded drums must be characterised by hygienic properties in the specific processes of the pharmaceutical industry. In addition to the materials commonly used in the industry, such as 1.4301/AISI 304, 1.4404/AISI 316L, the material 2.4602/C 22 nickel alloy - HASTELLOY - is suitable for this purpose. This is used in the aerospace industry Hastelloy C 22 is a very corrosion-resistant material. The GMP-compliant lidded drums are also butt TIG welded with filler metal and without gaps, the seams rolled flat as well as inside/outside, finely ground. In addition, they are easy to clean without leaving any residues and have a high stability even at maximum load. The surfaces are ground or electropolished for optimum product discharge of Ra (roughness) smaller than 0.25µm.
